Operation Welcome Homes:
Hi, my name is Robert
Malnik and I would like to thank
everyone that is a part of Operation Welcome Homes. Having been a part
of OWH
has been an awesome time. I can’t believe that I actually got a free
vacation...
I think I had the best vacation of my life in Cancun,
Mexico
with my best friend
that I served in Iraq
with. We did a variety of things like jet skiing, clubbing, a pirate
ship booze
cruise, a snorkeling adventure, we watched a bull fight and of course
had a few
drinks at our pool bar which was awesome!!! My friend and I say THANK
YOU!!!!!!
I had the opportunity to meet Don Rubin
and I must say… He
is quite the gentleman for putting all of this together for us
Veterans! I was
talking with him and it seems that Veterans don’t believe in the
program. WELL, I AM HERE TO SAY THAT THIS IS
FOR
REAL!!! If
any of you future Veteran
vacationers are reading this, you must take one!!! This was such a time
for me
to relax and take a breather from everything that I did! I had the time
of my
life!!! Vacations are something that everyone needs, especially from
everything
that we’ve done. Take a loved one, a friend, or even family… Each of
you deserves
it!!!
I was the first service member to be
a part of Operation
Welcome Homes 2 years ago during New Year’s Eve of 05-06. I spent a
week at Don
Rubin’s summer home in Fish Creek, Wisconsin with
4 other people. We
had a great time and I am surprised that Veterans are turning these
Vacations
down. Since then my family has added additional time shares that are
now being offered
to OWH with new locations for Veteran’s to go to. It’s through the
Travel
Advantage Network (TAN) or www.planwithtan.com.
Veteran’s will now have an opportunity to travel to Jamaica,
St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, Cancun, Hawaii, Alaska, and other
various
locations across the U.S. There will be detailed instructions at OWH
for
Veteran’s to follow on how to pick which spot works best! Just be sure
to check
the Operation Welcome Homes Web site for timeshare locations and
available
dates.
I would also like to
make a difference for returning
Veterans! A lot of people donate homes, cottages, condos, and even
their own
summer homes. It’s tough to try and do something as nice as Don Rubin
and what the
other donors have done. Sometimes we have to give a little to get a
little. For
me, it’s self dignity!!! I hope that anyone who reads this letter of
testimonial plans to be a part of OPERATION WELCOME HOMES as a future
vacationer, a future donor, a future sponsor, or even a wonderful
reader! This
is a great opportunity for returning soldiers… Let’s help them out by
putting a
few of them on vacation!! God Bless and God Speed to all of you
